If you want to play Griddle on a podcast, you can. You've slept on three albums to this point: the zero-budget Beak (2002), and then the big-budget Turning Violet (2004), and then back to zero-budget for our collaboration with painter Stephen Tompkins, Klimty Favela (2006). But that's okay, we'll love you anyway. It's never too late to catch up.
While writing continues on Album Number Four (working title: GRIZZLED), the boys in the band have been playing in New York City a lot as of late, and are continuing with the California love.
The four personalities of Griddle are still in full force: Kimo, the mysterious one; Fortier (he's French - it's pronounced "FOUR-tee-ay"), the flirtatious one; McGrew, the energetic one; Seal, the midwestern one. They hope to stroll the cobblestoned streets of your fair city, and sleep on your couches. Griddle loves you.
We're in the studio a lot, and not on MySpace much... it's much easier to find us on Twitter or Facebook. And if you want to stream all three of our albums for free, you can at Bandcamp. Even better, come buy those albums at Griddlemusic. Every purchased album comes with a free drink at our next show (martini, whiskey, coffee, green tea, water, your choice).
We're all broke-ass musicians, so we need other jobs. Kimo tours as a guitarist with Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine. Seal writes and produces shows for Pandora. Forteeay is a touring soundguy (most recently with Booker T of Booker T & the MGs). McGrew is the founder of Mystic Links (more on that later).

Look for us in Washington, Oregon and California between October 15 and November 15, when our tour wraps up with the big show at San Francisco's best rock club, Bottom of the Hill! For the complete show schedule, check here: http://bit.ly/1UgGqQ

While sitting around on hiatus one day I got this idea to run out to the woods and make a video. So, I borrowed a camcorder, picked up my director buddy, Guy Bee, along the way, and spent a day strumming up in Topanga and Bell Canyon. Here's what we shot.

Charles Dickens began pasting labels on blaking pots. The tragedy of his first love penetrated the depths of his soul, and converted him into one of the world's truly great authors. That tragedy produced, first, David Copperfield, then a succession of other works that made this a richer and better world for all who read his books. Dissappointment over love affairs, generally has the effect of driving men to drink, and women to ruin; and this because most people never never learn the art of transmuting their strongest emotions into dreams of a constructive nature.
