Set on a reliable path from the first beats, the new Hands Upon Black Earth album, Translucent, evolves organically… swelling into a presence, ripe and provocative, and ebbing gracefully into submission. It carries emotion and summons release… seductive and soothing when so inclined, well scripted and perfectly unpredictable. In Translucent, h.u.b.e producer Bobby Cochran continues his path to uncharted sonic territories, and extends to accomplish what can only be the goal to enrapture…
On this follow-up to the groundbreaking self-titled debut album, Cochran is joined by vocalist and collaborator Irina Mikhailova, formerly of Medicine Drum and currently of Lumin, Kaya Project and many others, Irina is a well respected and established solo recording artist in her own right, and adds new sensuality and Eastern European flavor to the mix. Additional collaborations feature downtempo producer and cellist Rena Jones, singers and composers Artemis, Sharon Knight and Celeste Lear, among others.
These are songs that mix the ancient salt of tide pools with the gleam of mercury; natural ambiences tastefully introduced and skillfully blended, pulsing and undulating rhythms fused with soothing strings and electronic textures… awakening the body to movement while opening the mind to infinite possibilities… Translucent is a gateway to the uncharted territory within us all.

"DJ Monkey …soul-stirring, excitingly edgy music…just disturbing (read ‘mind-f**king’) enough to demand attention. There is a whole spice rack of auditory flavors here, served up like fractured poetry on a collection of intensely listenable Hallmark cards from Hell." Bill Margold, Cinema Seen, L.A. X..Press
Thank you for adding me. Inspiral sure had some beautiful synth work. Liked the tribal sounding drums. Those drums toward the end were awesome. Would love to hear a remix with those drums cranked. Vinsandaan Voc was really glimmering. I loved that synth. So crisp and those female vocals sounded so beautiful. Really inspiring work. Keep in touch and take care, Jere
... the sky is clearing, tender sunrays strike one's skin again, the air is fresh and clean and sometimes one can even watch a rainbow.
This situation represents pretty much the musical atmosphere of Krama's second album: Mighty bass structures form a clean and solid foundation, on which sunny melodies swash out of trancy depths, accompanied by forcing rhythm structures. Since 2001, Dimitris Violitzis and Elias Garanis from Greece have constantly developed their very own definition of Power Progressive Trance.
The epic flow of their music is inspired by their musical background, which includes minimal Progressive Trance on the one hand but also classical and Celtic music, New Age sounds and even some Metal.
The intense effectiveness of Krama's tunes could already been witnessed on many different Progressive floors where the two dudes always delivered excellent shows.
It's good be busy...sometimes! I'm doing pretty good... just doing odd jobs now (manual labor sometimes) Radioshack where I used to work, closed down. So it has been a good experience for me to try to balance music and trying to keep an income.
Hit me up if you need help man you know I love doing that stuff...
Thanks for getting me my copy of Translucent - finally! Sheesh! ;+)
No it's all good, it sounds gorgeous, I am honored to be on it.
Paul bought it from iTunes when you announced you were giving it away for free. Call us old school, but we are glad to pay musicians for their work. I mean sheesh, you can't even shell out 99 cents for a song you love? I can!
