Band MembersPAT JOHNSON on vocals, guitar and mandolin “Rather than sounding derivative Johnson seems to have something happening that’s purely his own. If you like music that seems to have been conceived on a country front porch, this is for you.” T. Bruce Wittet, Muzik Etc.

“Pat Johnson knows a thing or two about style. The blues loving singer-songwriter from Brockville, ON has crafted an admiral debut … clean finger-style guitar gives the bluesier material a Mississippi John Hurt sort of charm and his lyrics are humorous and entertaining. Would surely make even Taj Mahal crack a smile.” Brent Hagerman, Exclaim!

MATTHEW WILSON on TUBA!! holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music education and Performance and a Master of Music degree in Performance. Matt has played with the Canadian Brass, Utica Symphony Orchestra, the Catskills Brass, and the Orchestra of Northern New York among many other organizations.

GLEN CROTTY on Drums has been performing in Eastern Ontario for more than two decades. Most notably he has worked with Jeff Callery & Runaway Train and Alexander’s Big Time Band.

Pat, I learned that version of "Might As Well Get Drunk" from you. I did that gig in Saratoga Springs last summer, and before I played that tune, I said I learned it from "Pat Johnson, the world-famous Ontario bluesman." Everybody in the crowd nodded politely ... after the show, a lady came up to me and asked "Is Pat Johnson the guy who wrote 'Crossroads Blues?'" I told her, "I do believe you're right." *wink*

Hey there -

Thanks for the friend request -- I enjoyed listening to your tunes. I see we share some influences. Let's hear it for Mississippi John Hurt!

All the best,

Eve

To Pat: Missed you this summer!
To potential Papa fans: Follow these boys wherever they go, and do as they do. They are absolutely correct.
