Darren Hayman (Hefner, The French) on bass and vocals, Dan Mayfield (Enderby, Ellis Island Sound, The Secondary Modern) on violin, Dave Tattersall (The Wave Pictures) on guitar and vocals and Dave Watkins (Pete and the Egg, The Secondary Modern) on banjo.
Ex Members Simon Trought (Tompaulin, Mat Sawyer and the Ghosts), John Lee (B-Monster)
Influences
We're four indie kids at heart but blues, folk and country have caused us to stray from the path. Dan is a proper folky and plays at morris dances and stuff. Dave W is our actual bluegrass and old time buff and he's our go to guy on Alan Lomax, Smithsonian Folkways, Amercian folk anthology etc. Dave T has more of blues leaning, bringing in songs by Leadbelly, Doctor John etc. Darren likes the country greats; Townes Van Zandt, Mike Nesmith, Iris Dement.
Sounds Like
Rough and ready bluegrass! occasionaly lacking in finese and dexterity but always fun and never boring.
