Imagine if independent labels could harness the power of the major labels' distribution "Machine". Many independent labels, which have already had limited success on their own, banding together to create a stronger force as one cohesive collective. Each label already has standing in its own community, with a small sales force and a "Street Team". Each label already has artists and branding, websites and sales contacts. If these labels unite under one distribution banner, the power and market share will reflect a huge spike in each label's profit. This will allow the labels to foster new and different products, and to underwrite the cost out of this new found profit. With the addition of other independent labels, and a marketing plan that focuses on expanding territories with a steady pace, as well as claiming and exploiting new undeveloped, underdeveloped, or non-traditional sales points, as well as using each label's local business office as a subsidiary, the concept of an Independent Distribution Collective (IDC) is born.
Building on this concept as a base, IDC has helped the next generation of musicians and producers get their music to market. Never before has a distributor opened it's doors to the thousands of talented artists and musicians who work so hard to score a record deal. The idea is that many of these people could bring a CD to market, without the overhead of a middle man. IDC will actively promote its services to the thousands of bands and solo artists who have spent years trying to secure that ever-elusive "Distribution Deal". In the past few months IDC launched IDCD, our digital distribution imprint, and will lauch IDCF, our film and DVD side. These channels, plus our growing marketing and PR services make IDC different that any other independent distribution company anywhere...
In 2009, IDC will launch its International side, with the plan to work with and develop partnerships with companies in the UK, Europe, Australia and Japan. This again will help our artists and labels reach more and more of their fans, worldwide!
It's a wave of hope that was delivered to the arrival and a wave of hope that bids you farewell. It's the sound of compassion and peace you hear in JAH'S music. It's the will of JAH that brings us into the light when we thought the darkness was bearable and it is the will of JAH that will make YOU build a larger fire to rescue those who walk with their eyes close for they fear the light. Thank you Great Father and Great Mother for the blessings of life. Protect us from those who would harm the ways of love and peace. Give us strength to help ourselves then to extend a hand in strength to help those less fortunate than ourselves. Leads us out of the path of temptations and lead us to the path of resolution. Unite these people who stand apart and desire to be together but only have words and need the fortitude to manifest this union. Give us silence to contemplate, think, meditate and pray. Give us celebration to remind us of our blessings.
As I lift my head to geat your smiles, may
the wings of the angels take flight into your heart.
Thanks for the love - we appreciate it! Please stop by our page and say hello. Communication is the key to unity. One world, one goal, one love! VIVA LA LOVELUTION!!!

....FRIZZ RECORDS is proud to announce our fourth LP release...
LEILA ADU has been described as 'A Nina Simone for the Noughties', and her two acclaimed albums infuse a broadly 'art-rock' approach with elements of torch song, speakeasy blues, avant garde jazz, gamelan, post-rock textures, and a David Lynch style dreamlike b-movie melodrama. As her website has it, exploring the "dissonant edges of familiar forms", but with that kind of 'dissonance' that they once accused Thelonious Monk or Debussy of, the kind that soon betrays it's own compelling melodic and harmonic logic to the attentive listener...
'Dark Joan', Leila's third album as a solo artist, was recorded in Chicago with the legendary Steve Albini (PJ Harvey, Joanna Newsome, Nirvana, Pixies), and Albini's genius has been to strip her sound back to it's essence, and hold it's most distinctive qualities up to the light. It doesn't hurt that this is by far Leila's most powerful set of songs to date, and if anything we are lead even deeper into her world by the pictures painted with just piano (or in some cases harpsichord or a grime-encrusted electric piano) and that voice...
Capable of anything from delicate heartbreaking purity to a fearsome dramatic power, her powers are seemingly limitless, yet unlike most other singers of her calibre, never does she resort to melodrama or show-boating, or any kind of pastiche, instead she employs her resources fully in the expression of her distinctive musical vision and the deep well-spring of her imagination. Nothing ever sounds as though it could have not been sung...
