Books
BOOKS: I must have been the only child at six reading African Myths and Legends. Stories of Princess Nzinga (sp) and black kings and queens. I read young I read about my history young.....I read about religion, the British education system, mental slavery- YOU NAME IT my dad made me read it....which kid is told off for saying Christopher Columbus was a dirty stinking liar- only my fathers child-lol! But knowledge gives you a head start. I have too many books to mention. I read sparatically too, which for a wrtiter is very bad. I started reading perfectly at three. I come from a family who enjoy rerading and is apart of family life. I loved reading and so listing mbooks....is like listing every emotion felt in every memory I have ever had- impossible.
The first book i fell in love with was Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry, by Mildred D Taylor.
Last book I read was Sue Townshead---------- A.A.Mole and the weapons of mass destructions- --------funny ass book! Going to go back and read all the ones before it
Heroes
HEROES: Everyone of my ancestors that paved the way for me. I mean that to my deepest soul. But also my heroes are the people doing life right now, but stepping out of that box. Doing extra ordinary things and being apart of the solution and not apart of the proble. Because you will be the heroes of tommorrow - you are my hero right now!
Harriet Tubman, Mary Secole(my hero), Sam Sharpe,Marcus Garvey, Malcom X, Madam CJ Walker, the black inventor...(something) McCoy.
Every black man and woman that gave their freedom and basic human rights to allow my to have the freedom i have today.
......Ms Rowe- my mum
