   About James Moors
"James Moors resonates immediately. He writes deeply sincere, often peacefully therapeutic music with a wisdom far beyond the norm. A special artist. It's no wonder he loves Neil Finn, because he shares some of the same melodic gifts, enhanced by a warm-hearted spirit that makes you want to hear more.''  STEVE MORSE, Longtime Boston Globe writer.

James Moors debut CD, HUSH, reached into the Top 40 of the Americana Roots and Folk Charts for several weeks in the spring of 2008. The Album was co-produced by Canadian Pop darling Danny Michel and Colorado Songwriter/Producer Kort McCumber. Graced with performances from Lisa Germano, Marc Perlman (The Jayhawks), Peter Anderson (The Honeydogs, Golden Smog) and Ben Wisch (David Wilcox, Marc Cohn) Hush has received wide acclaim both in the states and internationally.

Young and old find themselves in the plain spoken lyrics of James Moors. In the Present Moment with his Midwestern sincerity and humble humor, James unveils layers of our common experiences in song to expose the magic that lies beneath them. Often compared to such luminaries as Pierce Pettis, Peter Himmelman and Darden Smith, James paints the landscapes we all live in. His journey as a songwriter began in 1995 after the untimely passing of his younger brother. Jeremy Moors went missing and is presumed dead in the mountains outside of Bozeman, Mt. With little or no closure to such a voluminous chapter in his life, songwriting became a safe outlet for the raw emotions of grief and a source of comfort and peace.
James Moors began touring the U.S. in 2000 under the stage name Sterling Waters. He has released three CDs under the Sterling Waters moniker.

"From beginning to end, “Hush” is a beautiful tapestry of gracious, Storyhill-worthy melodies and straight-shot-to-the-soul lyrics; proving, once again, that Moors is one of the nation’s most underrated songwriters."  Matthew R. Perrine Budgeteer News

James has shared the stage with Chris Smither, Richard Shindell, Willy Porter, Peter Case, Jeffrey Foucault, Bill staines, Les Sampou, Tom Prasado-Rao, Peter Mayer, Amy Speace and many others.

Just enjoying life in the slow lane. Doing some painting today, and looking forward to playing some music sometime soon. I was just thinking last night about doing a tour or something with you. I've got all this time on my hands and need to do something fun for my sanity : )
