From 1974 to 1996 musicians filled a bar on South St. in Philadelphia with sounds of free-spirit music... that bar was JC Dobbs.
Recentley a Dobbs reunion was held Oct. 2006 and many numbers/e-mails were exchanged. It was a wonderful time for all (see our website: www.JCDobbs.net).
This site is in memory of that bar and every man & woman who worked for Joe, Travis, Donny and Kathy.
We have nothing to do with the new club at 304 South Street. We were one of the original owners who own the name, JC Dobbs (aka DOBBS) for productions, shows, archival purposes, documentary film and digital music releases, etc.
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)

Hey if anyone here knows Laura Mann personally, please tell her that her myspace music page is set up all wrong. You can't message her if she is not your friend nor can you send her a friend request.
If she's trying to promote her music here, that's not the way to do it.
Yeh, Robert will be missed- I remember Bill Eib and Robert checking us out, Alan Mann & The Free Arts Band, in '80 @ JC Dobbs and soon after, contacting me to play keys for the early Hazard band Heroes. Yes, it was an exciting time, fondly remembered as the "Heyday of the Philly Music Scene" which continued thru the mid '90s. Once again, now the torch is being passed to the next generation- and we as the elder statesmen MUST tell the story, an illustrious history of our most creative singer/songwriters- why Philly means so much to me.
THanks for the ++! I have a bunch more photos I can send you if you would like for your archives. I was there relatively early on. I am glad you are working on preserving the era. I have recently reunited with a bunch of the old gang... guess we are getting nostalgic. they were the wild times... good luck with your project. MISS ROBERTA
Hi All I'm looking for information on a guitar player Richard Johnson. I think he was with Philly Gumbo at one time. I know he has passed but I am looking to gather some recordings of his for a friend of mine that was a dear friend of his. Thanx Robby O
Thanks for the add. Many of the BEST moments of my life were spent in J.C. Dobbs. Playing, Singing, Listening, Drinking, and talking to Kathy and Shamus; unforgettable times!!
Thanks for the add and a lot of great memories. Dobbs was always the place to be in Philly. When nothing else was going on, you could always count on Dobbs to come through.
