Kay Pettigrew

Bio:

Kay Pettigrew is an independent musician who writes songs that take the gut-rot of heartache and transmute it into moody, powerful, jazz and blues-influenced melodies that were born in rural Southern Ontario and have since grown up in Toronto's west end.

Whether holding her own or supported by her band (drummer Aaron Friend-Lettner and bassist Adrian Cook), Kay is starting to get noticed; in 2009 she was acclaimed in Xtra! Magazine's Best of Toronto, and her cover of the popular themesong to '90s TV hit, "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air", has garnered her over 100,000 hits on YouTube and multiple positive reviews.

Kay has been a featured performer at festivals such as North by Northeast, Toronto Pride, Ladyfest Toronto, and Montreal's Rock Camp For Girls. She is currently writing songs toward her first full-length record.
