Kyp Harness is a singer-songwriter who has released eight albums over the last fifteen years. His latest CD, 'Fugitives' is available at maplemusic.com. Also at Soundscapes record store, 572 College St., Toronto.
He has gathered high praise for the poetic nature of his lyrics - Daniel Lanois has cited him as a "great writer", Mary Margaret O'Hara has covered one of his songs, and Ron Sexsmith calls him "my favourite songwriter...it's his lyrics that set him apart. They are every bit as powerful as the best Dylan, Cohen and Lennon combined." Kyp's songs have also been covered by Sexsmith, Kathleen Yearwood and the Dinner is Ruined band.
Harness has also written a book on his fave comedians, 'The Art of Laurel and Hardy', published by McFarland in the US, available at Amazon.com Newly available this year is Kyp's "The Art of Charlie Chaplin"
