The Legion has formed a creative partnership with jotta.com
jotta.com is an online and offline community for practising artists across all creative disciplines founded in partnership with University of the Arts, London, which includes Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, London College of Fashion, London College of Communication, Chelsea College Of Art and Design, and Camberwell and Wimbledon Colleges of Art.
The artists are:
Nick Morley is an artist and illustrator working in London who has been commissioned to illustrate book covers for Penguin and Faber & Faber and whose work has twice been published in Le Gun magazine. Nick is a committee member and keyholder at East London Printmakers.
Eoin Ryan is an illustrator and designer based in London, who is a recent graduate of Camberwell College of Arts where he studied illustration. His film Rooftops was selected to be screened at the BFI as part of the onedotzero Adventures in Motion Film Festival.
Gemma Land is currently in her final year studying a Masters in Photography at the London College of Communication. Gemma is interested in the origins and history of residential architecture and our psychological response to architectural space.

About me:
The Legion is a bar, it sells booze and has comfy places to sit and hangout, but we have gone to a little more effort. Whether it be a quiet drink on a Tuesday whilst listening to great music by interesting people, or a proper party on a Friday or Saturday with DJs playing anything from disco to krautrock or shoegaze to electro. Plus live bands on our cabaret stage and a constantly updated art installation with projections by new illustrators, animators and graphic artists. We've made it a place we would want to go to - we hope you do too.JULY 2009 HIGHLIGHTS
22nd – Rough Trade
Perhaps the best independent music shop and record label in the world. Rough Trade bring the pain with this one-off hook up of east and west staff members. A rare thing for all to enjoy.
24th – Mystery Jets (DJ set), The Lovely Jonjo
Mystery Jets are one of this country's best bands. This month they play the records that influenced them and some party starters with support from the infamous Lovely Jonjo.
31st – Rory Phillips (Durr / Trash), Jac The Disco
Rory Phillips was a long standing Trash resident, and is now resident at Durrr. He describes his style as “awkward dance, forgotten post-punk classics and electronic oddities.” He has played with 2ManyDJ’s, Optimo and Justice.
Tuesdays - Residents Only
We have invited our favourite residents from our favourite clubs to come and play their favourite records. Expect to hear the music that inspired them to start their nights and the music that keeps their passion alive now. No bangers though! Free.
Wednesdays - Record Club
A night devoted to people who are passionate about music – namely record shops, record labels, magazines, websites and blogs. The people at the forefront of writing about, selling or giving away free (cheeky devils) music from the latest bands, DJs, artists and producers. Expect to hear some brand new sounds as well as the classic records that got them into music in the first place. Free.
Thursdays
Having had the likes of Metronomy, Horrors, Toddla T, S.C.U.M, Drums of Death, Peter Bjorn & John and Yo Majesty play at various nights at the Legion we entrust Thursdays to a host of great promoters and party starters. Free before 9pm, £3 after.
Fridays – Losing My Edge
It’s simple, it’s the weekend, it’s time to make a party, we are good at this so come along! Expect to hear disco, krautrock, electro, indie, punk funk, hip hop, synth pop, and everything in between. Free before 11pm, £3/£4 after.
Saturdays – All Over My Face
The classier brother to our slightly trashy Fridays. The music steps up a gear for some love dancing – it’s the same only bigger. Disco, krautrock, electro, indie, punk funk, hip hop, synth pop, and everything in between. Free before 11pm, £3/£4 after.
Sundays
Are all about secret plans and clever tricks. There will be special one off gigs, single launches, secret shows, and cabaret organised by London’s most interesting promoters. We're not open every Sunday so always check flyers or the website for details.
