Lisa Brigantino grew up in the town of Katonah, just north of New York City and began her music training at an early age, starting piano lessons at 5 and violin at 8. In addition to being a trained vocalist, she also plays guitar, upright and electric bass, cello, mandolin, percussion, ukulele, accordion, harp, banjo and anything else she can get her hands on. She comes from a musical family and her relatives include the late Felix Pappalardi, producer of Cream and bass player and producer of Mountain and Michael Barbiero, an amazing producer, engineer and re-mixer who has worked with everyone from Madonna and Cinderella to Blues Traveler and Gov't Mule.
A trained composer with a Master of Music degree in music composition and theory from the School of Music at State University of New York at Fredonia, Lisa has written music for dance, theatre, TV and film, most recently scoring the music for the film "Game Night", her second film with writer/director Jennifer Williams. Her debut album "A Brooklyn Night" has received great reviews and international radio airplay and she is currently recording her next solo album. She has been requested to perform her original songs at showcases for BMI, Women In Music, The Uptown Songwriters Hang, The Marmalade Jam to name just a few. Lisa has been honored with a Citation of Merit from past Brooklyn Borough President Howard Golden for her album A Brooklyn Night and her work as a Brooklyn-based musician and she is the recipient of honorable mentions in the past seven consecutive Annual Billboard World Song Contests for her songs "Wallflower", "The Light Of Your Face", "Departure", "Don't Say It At All", "I Gotta Find Me Something", "I Will" and "Holding On For Something". She is also the recipient of a Runner Up Award in the 2008 Song Of The Year Contest for her song "The Light Of Your Face".
Lisa performs in a crazy, self-contained musical comedy act with her sister Lori called "The Vickie and Nickie Show". Vickie and Nickie are two suburban housewife sisters from the hills of Minnesota that perform original and cover songs ranging from pop, rock, soul to rap and they play a variety of instruments as well. The act is interspersed with improvisation and audience participation. Visit their sites at www.vickieandnickie.com and www.myspace.com/vickieandnickie.
Lisa also performs with "In The Rough", a vocal trio including her sister Lori and friend Susan Haefner. The trio has been singing together since college and they have an extensive repertoire including Lisa's original tunes as well as folk, rock, pop, country and accapella favorites.
Lisa was a founding member of Lez Zeppelin, the world's first all girl, all Led Zeppelin tribute band, and played bass, bass pedals, keyboards and mandolin and sang backup vocals. She announced she was leaving the project in January 2009 to pursue other creative ventures. Sarah McLellan and Helen Destroy left the project at that time, as well. Lez Zeppelin toured internationally and released their debut CD in 2007 produced by legendary engineer/producer Eddie Kramer. The band appeared on national and international TV including CBS Sunday Morning and Japan's Music Fair and received outstanding press in publications such as Spin, The New York Times, The London Times, Time Out New York, and Rolling Stone.

" Harmonious, melodic, smooth, bluesy, funky, rootsy all these describe the music of Lisa Brigantino. She conveys a lot through her words, and more importantly, her vocal styling itself. If I was a folk-rockin woman from New York City with one hell of a lot to say, my name would be Lisa Brigantino."

'A Brooklyn Night' is a splendid album. With the help of some stinging guitar work by Tomi Millioto, Brigantino puts together a varied selection of tasty musical entrees. She sings with a lot of soul and grit, showing the spirit of a true New Yorker. She plays one mean acoustic guitar and sings like a woman that is full of life and plenty of it to share with her audience. All the emotions are harnessed and delivered right on time in every song. This is all very well done."
- Keith "Muzikman" Hannaleck - The Global Muse Music Magazine
" Rootsy folk musing with the refreshing warmth of a well recorded acoustic guitar, a soulful singer, and crystalline vocal harmonies that sound like angels tapping in on a radio signal."
- Listen.com
" Wow! That's about all I can say after listening to "A Brooklyn Night"! Lisa's wonderful vocal sound and style immediately caught my ear followed by her spectacular guitar work. Cool songs and arrangements, great work by her collaborators...I'll definitely be listening to this again..."
- CMD Music
“A Brooklyn Night is a gem, a beautiful collection of poetic, melodic tracks. The arrangements, by Lisa and Tomi Millioto, are mostly sparse and organic, allowing the beauty of Lisa's voice and lyrics to shine through. It's one of those CDs that you'll want to listen to over and over again. I heard echoes of Joni Mitchell, Sheryl Crow, Alison Kraus, Mama Cass Elliott with a sprinkle of Janis Joplin thrown in for flavour! Lisa has a beautiful way of bending her notes when she sings. Some people say that the human voice is the most beautiful instrument of all but also the most difficult to master. Listen to Lisa and you'll see what I mean…”
- Bassgirls.com
"Lisa Brigantino...is simply one of the best hard rock bassists I have ever seen: solid and accurate, with an energy that seems limitless."
- Progarchives.com
"Bassist Brigantino is [Lez Zeppelin's] secret weapon. Her versatility and musicianship are the band’s glue and like JPJ, without her, there is no “Zep” sound."
- Telluride Daily Planet
“ Lisa Brigantino is note for note for note perfection. She is thunder. She’s the dangerous criminal in the shadows of impending doom.”
- Aspen Daily News
"Lisa Brigantino is a mastermind in her own right...Up on stage she
is a musical goddess."
- Sen Baltimore Magazine
"If you're a bassist, you better watch out for Lisa Brigantino..."
- Eastfield News
"Lisa Brigantino is the bassist and she has the inevitable task of anchoring the bombast with solid bottom and fills and more. Along with drummer Helen Destroy, they make the entire enterprise possible. This mothership has more than enough lift due to Brigantino and Destroy."

Hey, it's about time, huh?!!! I recently was named (along with my co-writer, David Stewart) the Grand Prize winner in the CMT/NSAI Song Contest--and a friend of mine in Nashville told me (rather sternly!) that I'd better get my butt on MySpace to capitalize on the win...so here I am. My niece (who, along with her brother, refers to me as her "cool aunt") was slightly impressed, but really thought I should be on Facebook. That's my next project!
Anyway, looks like you're doing well. I must say I wouldn't have recognized you--you look so different. Is it the hair?
Hi Lisa: I wish you the best in your new musical adventures in 2009. We will surely miss you in Lez Zeppelin. Your musicianship, passion, love for the songs, and most of all your personal dedication to the band and the fans will be hard to duplicate. Oh, and you are extremely multi-talented too! We hope to come down and catch a V&N show one of these days. Keep us informed on your adventures and we will try to be there to follow along. Thanks for the great memories! Charles In (COLD) Vermont.
