    Mandolin Orange is a duo, sometimes band, led by songwriter Andrew Marlin and vocalist/instrumentalist Emily Frantz. The duo ornaments lyric and harmony-focused tunes with acoustic and electric guitars, fiddle and mandolin. As a band they are joined by rhythm section Jeff Crawford (bass) and James Wallace (drums). On September 24, 2011, Mandolin Orange will release their second project, a double album entitled HASTE MAKE | HARD HEARTED STRANGER. The release show will be held at Cat's Cradle, and tickets can be purchased in advance at catscradle.com. Haste Make was recorded with Jeff Crawford and James Wallace in winter 2010/2011 at Arbor Ridge Studios West in Franklin, NC and at Arbor Ridge Studios in Chapel Hill, and was produced by Jeff Crawford and Mandolin Orange. Hard-Hearted Stranger was recorded in summer 2011 at Rubber Room Studios in Chapel Hill and features Andrew and Emily alone, produced by Andrew Marlin. The 9/24 show will be the first place the album is made available, and the group will perform both duo and full band shows throughout the southeast following the release. The duo's debut album "Quiet Little Room" released in May 2010, and its sparse arrangement and instrumentation reflect the influence of traditional music on their contemporary folk style.
