The world is turning to crap! Let the dance party begin! That is the mantra of Man is Doomed, the neo-disco-electro-funk band created by the music production duo The Skeptics (Brian Casey and Danny Burke) and visual artist Anton Friant. Inspired by electronic, funk and disco music, Man is Doomed's debut Escape to Europa is a bold combination of contemporary dance production and classic pop songwriting. A blend of razor synths, brutal dance beats, and provocative and hooky lyrics create a musical aphrodisiac that will make the listener uncontrollably want to shake 'it'. So fear not people of Earth, there is still hope. Join with Man is Doomed on their funktastic voyage as they drop Escape to Europa on March 30th.

Brian, Danny, and Anton all met while students at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2001. In addition to Man is Doomed, the trio has also released records as the art-pop outfit Glorious Monster. Brian and Danny have also written award winning music for a variety of TV, film and advertising projects as the composition/production duo The Skeptics. Working with In The Groove Music, a Minneapolis-based commercial music house, The Skeptics have worked on dozens of projects for companies such as BMW, Coca Cola, Sony Picture Classics, MTV and the Discovery Networks.

After the release of Escape to Europa, Man is Doomed plans on spending the rest of 2009 working on some remixes, sporadically and selectively playing live, and hiding in their dungeon of rock to begin the forging of a new Glorious Monster album.

What others are saying...

"Minneapolis electro-funk threesome Man Is Doomed are a collection of like-minded warriors who have an unmatched understanding of the elements that birthed classic pop brilliance and the know-how for composing the latest dancefloor-killing electro beats. The band, created by the music production duo The Skeptics (Brian Casey and Danny Burke) and visual artist Anton Friant, are all set to release their first-ever full length disc, Escape To Europa, on March 30. Burning up with slick production, blissfully-apocalyptic vibes and never-ending catchiness, Man Is Doomed are truly a set that you should keep your eyes and ears out for."

The Culture of Me

"It's only March, but I'm going to call this: Man Is Doomed will probably be this year's standout electronica debut. The trio is from Minnesota, and their music is as indebted to contemporary techno as it is old school disco: Like Justice and MSTRKRFT, they've got the crisp bass lines and slightly overmodulated drums that make club speakers rumble; plus, they've got the melody, male falsettos, and pop sensibility that call back to groups like the Bee Gees. It's club music that could actually be enjoyed on headphones, too. The trio's first LP is due for a March 30th release on Skeptic Music. Here's an amazing track from it. Fan yourself if you get too hot."

The Needle Drop

"the new album features everything you could every want for that sweaty dance at the club. A thumping bass line and rapid cymbals build the majority of the sound, while soaring vocals with delightfully (but blatantly) sexually provocative lyrics fill the songs... Man is Doomed apply some great concepts to their music here. Abrupt transitions between tracks give the album a non-stop energy, while the instrumentals are distinct and raw, keeping the sound crisp and graspable. It's actually very impressive how much the band can do with the genre."

Kevin Coss @ 30 Music

"You can hate me for this one, but holy shit I love this album. It’s everything great about pop music blended with every great thing about synth/electro/dance music. In other words, it’s the new Prince. It’s silly dance music made by 2 serious musicians and 1 serious visual artist. Which gives it that special blend of fun with credibility...It’s even got a touch of the full dance sound of Justice with funk basslines…all sex, no discussions about Neitzsche. These guys are so fresh they don’t even have wikipedia entries. Get on this one Pirate Cats. One more tidbit to get you to check this band out: they wrote a song about Cougars."

Pirate Cat Radio

"Doomed does not take the typical DJ approach to dance music of turntables and straight syth generators; instead they rely heavily on quality bass lines from an actual bassist and guitar accents to their synth and keyboards. This organic touch creates humanity in their music. Where some dance-beaters tend to come off as computerized button mashers, this band displays how to healthily combine technology and talent...So, when you are in that place where all your friends are pressuring you to host an awesome get together in your room, I professionally recommend a serving of Man is Doomed as a part of this complete dance party. Fortified with infectious sonic entertainment, Escape to Europa will surely fits the bill."
