Mighty Shade was formed in Tampere, Finland in 2005. Mighty Shade plays eclectic rock music with progressive flavour. The band relies on strong melodies and has a distinctive sound, different from radio-oriented pop music.
The band started as quartet: Markku Lindström (voc/keyb), Jukka Hollström (bass/voc), Mika Jaatinen (guitar) and Samuli Broman (drums). In 2006, after the recording of the first demo, Teemu Helenius replaced Samuli as a drummer. Later that year, the band had a female vocalist for a couple of months but decided to carry on as a four-piece band.
The members of Mighty Shade have a diverse musical background, which makes creating prog-oriented material so exciting together (for more exact bios, refer to www.mightyshade.com). Currently Mighty Shade is writing more material and playing selected gigs.
Mighty Shade recorded another demo at JJ-Studio, Tampere Finland in March 2007.
