   About ED MUZIK

Ed Muzik = 2n x 4m + 1, where; n is equal to talent, m is equal to the number of keyboards and 1 is equal to 1

While part of Christchurch’s vibrant indie-electro scene, Ed Muzik’s musical influences lie more with international artists such as Cansei de Ser Sexy, LCD Soundsystem and the Knife. His lyrical content and delivery, however, are all his own.

Ed Muzik’s debut EP, Microarray, was self-released last August. Featuring six tracks dragged out over almost half an hour, Ed Muzik deals with party pills (“BZP”), meaningless consumerism (“Click Wheel”), stalking schoolgirls (“Girlz Skool”), as well as self-aggrandisement (the rest of the tracks). All the songs have one ear on the dance floor, with the other at the bar, trying out witless pick-up lines on the unsuspecting lady folk. A long-playing follow-up is in the works, featuring songs that look at the changing nature and myspace-ification of the music industry, but end up finding that the age-old core values of ego, bluster and pretence are still as important as ever.

In less than a year, Ed Muzik has moved his live show from the bedroom to the living room to the bar room, honing his skills by playing gigs all round town with the likes of Charlie Ash, Frase+Bri, the Shocking Pinks and Bang! Bang! Eche!, as well as mixing up a storm in cahoots with the Mixtape Connection’s Dr Hitchcock. Don’t miss out on the party when the Ed Muzik mobile disco rolls into your hood…

Thursday the 29th of May!
Sohomo presents…

--------------------------------------------
ROYAL SPECIAL – BANG BANG ECHE (LIVE)
---------------------------------------------

Yes! Yes! It’s Queens birthday weekend! God Save The Queen! Victorian themed with lots of art, pomp, and queen stuff that you won't know about till you get there!

Bang!Bang!Eche!: (CHCH)

“They’ll win you with funk baselines (seemingly the only constant), disco beats and catch hooks, and while you’re dancing they’ll be dropping in hypnotic synth lines, no-wave discord, smart and seemingly off-the-cut lyrics like they’ve been doing it since they were four years old or something.
Its enough to make you dizzy, and you’re not the only ones: the judges of RDU’s RounDUp competition awarded Bang!Bang!Eche! first place, UK mp3 bloggers www. thisisfakediy. co. uk named them on their “Best of Myspace” list, and they rewire amongst the highlights of a sublime Camp A Low Hum in February.” - Dan Trevarthen –REAL GROOVE

PLUS DJs

A.D.A.M
Oscar Nutt

Babes! Babes! Babes!

Only $10 on the door.
Drink specials: $5 Stellas, $5 Vodka's and $8 Redbull and Vodkas.

Hey Y’know Digital Promotion helps the environment AND the economy?

Promoting, selling and creating new revenue streams online requires no manufacturing process, and without physical shipment, creates no “carbon footprint”.

As a musician, digital products and services give you access to a global market, and the value that is created comes back to our local economy. Now you don’t need to have industry contacts - build connections directly with fans worldwide.

We’re encouraging New Zealand musicians to get out there, get online, and take their creativity to the world. Develop content on your own websites, develop your blog, develop and expand new ways to connect and create opportunities online.

The future for creative New Zealanders is just around the corner.

Andrew Tidball
A.D.A.M
Babes! Babes! Babes!

More info:

Richard Orjis:

“When Orjis is behind closed doors, a fly-on the wall catches a glimpse not of some caped crusader, but the dangerous alluring world or his art. It’s just as homoerotic as the tightly packaged Man Of Steel, but far more subversive: a recent video of his featured a naked man doing press-ups while slowly being buried in mud laced with gold. “ –Harry McNaughton, NO magazine (March)

http://www. richardorjis. com/Art/index. html

Andrew Tidball: An icon of the Auckland indie scene. Andrew runs Cheese on Toast: www. cheeseontoast. co. nz. He also as co-organizes and plays at Quay street social club and the Eavesdrop listing parties.

A.D.A.M: Sohomo's main resident. He's a BFM radio DJ Slut. Associated with Blah Blah Blah DJs, Verona and Fleet FM. He runs gigs all over the show and has various aliases such as Vicious Travolta, Garcon, or A I Bright. His tracks make everything go off like its 2010!

And

Babes! Babes! Babes! : We all know this Cat from his melodic outrageous soulful humming at the Kroad Lim Chour supermarket. And now that great mystic unveils what’s really going on that head, with his favourite tunes. Particularly the ones heard in the avocado section. And yes they’re in season!

Drink Specials: $5 Stellas, $5 Vodkas, $8 Vodka & Redbull
+ Free goodies at the door. And chalked art stuff.
The usual $5 on the door
