Since picking up a guitar at 13, I've played in a dozen bands in almost every genre imaginable. From emocore (Silent Orbit), punk (The Liberal Media), electroclash (ROBOTexclamationpoint), pop (Cooper, Sputnik Sweetheart), and indie (A Thousand Ships). My solo music has alternated between electronic and acoustic as an escape from playing in electric bands.
In 2005 I released my first full solo record entitled "Quicksand." I toured a bunch to support it, and was featured as a "PurePick" on Purevolume. Immediately afterwards I started working on my next CD called "Look Back and Laugh" inspired by the Minor Threat song of the same name. Although I finished recording in May 05, the album was set aside while I started working after college. By the time I came back to it, I had a whole new crop of material, which I recorded and released as "A Fine Disaster" in the winter of 2006. Although it attracted some positive attention, the difficulty of performing the songs live without a band or synths put any serious touring on hold.
In the summer of 2006, Victor returned from Paris, and we refocused our energies on A Thousand Ships. Throughout 2006 and 2007, I recorded demos and tracks for a new solo album which would be all acoustic called "The Art of Playing Dead." By the spring of 2008, I had recorded almost 30 songs and retitled the album "Tell Me Something Honey" which will now be released in the summer of 2008 featuring 12 of the songs from those sessions. I'm pretty excited. You should be too.
Thanks for listening.
