Johnny "Obadele" Jenkins Jr. is the current Creative Director/Principle of NoirAmeria, a Detroit-based design communication studio disciplined in graphic design, creative writing, corporate identity, consulting and event management.
A Louisiana-born, native Detroiter, he is a multimedia producer who explores the creative concept of visual verse through the collective works of poetry, performance, visual art and design.
He is a Co-Producer and Resident Host of the EchoVerse Poetry & Slam Series. He is also the Slam Master of the Detroit Slam Team at the Java Exchange Cafe.
JyObadele has committed over ten years to community service nurturing pride through the development of culture, self-identity and community empowerment as the founding father of the Black Pride Society - producers of Detroit's annual Hotter Than July (Black SGL Pride).
JyObadele (Johnny Jenkins Jr.) and DJ Andre Royster welcome EchoVerse Patrons to 1515 Broadway Theater in Downtown Detroit.

Nikki Giovani, Nelson Mandela, U.S. Senator Barak Obama, I'm not to hung up on personalities. Most of the folk I'd like to meet are now ancestors: Langston Hughes, W.E.B. Dubois, Ralph Bunche, Madame C. J. Walker and the likes. Prince and Janet Jackson have always been of my two favorite performers. Beyonce is becoming one of my top favorites because no one can sing, dance and bounce in stilettos like her.
I would like to in 2009! I'm just getting the packets together now. It's something my producers are working out now. Hank Milborne is in Pres now right??
I miss the d! even though it's "soooo cold" there right now (you have seen the video of baby girl, haven't you?) Anyway, I just wanted to let you know my one-man show is about to be up and running out here and we are planning to tour it soon- to all the black prides in the nation.
