"At a time when the major record labels are becoming extinct by the internet download revolution, there are only two choices - sink in a sea of endless x-factor one hit wonders, or surf the digital waves and find something more permanent. This compilation of new music gives some oxygen to British rock and pop."

North London's favourite new buzz-band-venue The Good Ship has ONCE UPON ANOTHER TIME on the jukebox (think spirit of 76 and give it a listen!, and is the place to catch quite a few of the whirled cup contenders... and is home to North P.O.L.E. events listed at Music Tourist Board calendar
ONCE UPON ANOTHER TIME... A virtual cup brimming over with a whirl of Alternative but Accessible underground classics of this decade. Some, favourites from rock's DIY network, some, brand new songs/first recordings commercially released and exclusives to this album. Most of these artists are completely new names to the unsuspecting public in general. All are very cool, very hot tips.
When Music Tourist Board began (Year 003), it's first (totally unofficial!) compilation was a CDR-invitation to check out tips (Art Brut, Chris T-T, Twisted Charm, Bloc Party and more) at specially staged events which the bands themselves helped to organise. Most have since raised their profile and the co-operative DIY bands, clubs, DJs, guerilla gigs etc vibe has spread around the planet. A network for the next wave of alternative idols to have been making names for themselves. This album is a fiver well spent for music fans checking out new bands to fall in love or get involved with - at less than 24p per song!!!
