Faith, hope and rock ‘n’ roll
Not three things you’d immediately associate with each other, but with Onehundredhours, they merge into one story, one sound.
They started by accident, a one-off gig that led to their first tour in California, but the Grand Design is evident since then: 2 independent releases selling more than 16,000 copies with no major label distribution or support, and 2 releases with Survivor Records described as “anthemic,” “blistering” and “something of a masterpiece.” Their hectic touring schedule has taken them all over the UK, as well as to Hungary, Norway, Finland, Holland, Denmark, South Africa, Romania, Canada, India and Australia plus several tours in the United States; and hundreds of gigs in front of tens of thousands with a live experience often described as simply ‘life changing’. The Spring of 2005 saw them release their promotional single and video, ‘King of Every Heart’ as they opened for Daniel Bedingfield on his massive UK/European tour by personal invitation of the artist. The Hours followed Daniel's tour with two headline club tours selling out the London Metro twice as well as other venues nationwide.
Believing that a lifestyle of faith demands action, the band, in partnership with the iThemba AIDS Foundation, founded engagehivaids.com in April 2004. Engagehivaids.com is a web-based community created to raise awareness for the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa. The band’s heart is to inspire, challenge and resource young people to live their lives with justice, hope, action and love at the core.
The key to the passion that drives the band is hinted at in their name. Taken from the book, The Other Hundred Hours by Wyn Fountain, it’s the story of real faith that lives in the real world. Of the 168 hours in each week, around 56 are spent sleeping, and, as the author points out, it’s hard to do more than 12 hours a week in religious meetings. That leaves 100 hours for everything else: work, studies, friends, family, entertainment, everything… Too often, faith is relegated to a few hours of meetings in a church building… and according to Tre Sheppard, lead singer and guitarist of the band, Onehundredhours wants more to their faith and more to their lives:
“Faith is the reason, definitely. We really believe that hope and love can be found in Jesus. And we’re not afraid to say it. But at the end of the day, we’re a rock n roll band too… and the music carries the hope, explores the doubts and provides a little common ground for all of us to encounter the miracle in the everyday. We don’t expect everyone to agree with us… but we do hope they experience something in the music that challenges some assumptions and helps them to encounter the love of God. And hopefully the heart and the passion of that experience will bring us all a little closer to one another and a little closer to grace.”
Hey Tre hows it going? When you going to put up "Come as you are" as one of the songs? When is 100 hours coming to NY to do a show. It's gotta happen. NY has to hear the great sounds of 100 hours.Hope all is well with you and the family.

Complete AWESOMENESS of gig shots. Was going to comment on a couple then wanted to comment on all and I've got NO TIME for that... Keep up the good work and looking forwards to a gig at a place I can get to on a time when I'm not overworked (2nd harder than 1st)... Missing the rock out oh yeah.
((incidentally your literal alter egos are just about to gig (well, in two chapters time, I've got ten left to get onto and you're in the first fifth of the last third if that makes sense...) Anyhow you lot are picking up the amps and going into battle on behalf of one of Jamie's group who needs it :) hope you like it when you get the advance copies... You don't let the side down oh no.))
Hi Tre & Tori!! Was good to see & meet you @ Soul Survivor!! Unfortunately wasn't able to stay that night, but I'm looking forward to see you @ Seaside in Norway or otherwise in Holland in July. Hope you had fun here??
Hey! How's the weather over there? I just want to let you know that i'm coming to the UK in late May/early June to play bass with Kevin Montgomery and Tommy Allsup. Tommy played guitar with Buddy Holly, and is THE guy that flipped the coin with Ritchie Valens. I figured that with you being a musician that you would really be able to appreciate this show. Kevin made a little video at my studio last week while we were recording....check it out http://myspacetv. com/index. cfm?fuseaction=vids. individual&videoid=34589518
There are a series of shows in England and Scotland....dates are on my myspace.
We won't be doing my material, but it is a really special show, and Tommy is a true rock'n'roll legend.
Anyway, take care and hope to see you there.

Oh yes indeedy. Guys and gal that was an absolute corker of a gig ((and the accoustic cafe set prior was total fun as well)). Only nine songs? Wow, you tore into them with as much passion and ... hmm... ferocity isn't the right word. Intensity oh yeah. Whichever (and it's been a long week :) so don't expect any sense from me word wise) the gig on the 10th was an absolute STORMER; a whole lot of hours at the best level. As ever it was the most fun I could have had with my ears and standing in the front row with a bunch of mates and a room full of people having fun was the coolest end to a Springy possible.
Woo, comic comes back from printer this w/end, puppets finished on tues (I did ask if they'd do a me and Tre one but hey, maybe next year eh?) it's all getting scarily cool.
Anyhow I see on the Springy site that you;re booked for gigging b
