Bio
---- From 2006-2009, PJ Shadowhawk played drums for the original QUASAR, a Prog Rock band relocated to the Bay Area from England. Formed in 1979 by band leader Keith Turner, QUASAR had gone thru a few different line-ups and played for thousands of fans in England and Europe. With semi-legendary status, QUASAR helped to forge the neo-progressive era of music along with such notables as IQ, Pendragon, Pallas, Landmarq and Marillion. PJ joined Quasar in 2006, first with the line-up of Alvek Frenk on Keyboards, Enrico Goias on guitars, Joseph Michael on vocals and, of course, Keith Turner on 12-string guitar, bass and bass pedals. In late 2007, Robert Robinson joined as the new singer and keyboardist, as Joseph and Alvek had left the band. Shortly after, Enrico also left the band. In 2008, Greg Studley joined on guitar. After a few live performances and much recording, in August 2009 PJ played a final live performance with the band and has also left Quasar. PJ is now working on completion of a new solo CD, "Land of Dreams"... ------ Prior to this, PJ briefly played drums (click on "Videos" - look below) with Gabriel Scott and The Bleeder Project out of San Francisco. Over the years PJ composed the music for the Theatre, TV and Motion Pictures, including "Membrane" and "Food for the Moon". PJ played drums for club and show bands including the original Apocalypse (1979), Fury, Breakwater, Touch, TAZ, Omega Prime, The Honkytonk Band, Bankshot, Amberjack, The James Patrick Band and once, due to contractual obligations, had to turn down a gig with Merle Haggard. Early on, PJ used to play drums for Gabriel Bondage and worked as a session drummer in Chicago. "I mainly play the drums. Then again, I have also been a composer and producer and sometimes a singer/guitarist/bassist/keyboardist/ and drummer... and sometimes having worn ALL the hats to get things done." - The songs here on Myspace are from various different projects... ... PJ wrote and produced all the songs on this site except "Last Chance" which was written by and performed initially by a band called Shooting Star... they did a really good job of it too! They (Gabriel Bondage) thought "what a great song"... - so the record company PJ was with at the time, Dharma Records, licensed this song from them and re-recorded it and released it as a single... PJ was playing drums for quite a number of Dharma folks at the time ...(Apocalypse, Dusty Miller, Rex Bundy, and a few others)... and for this release and for a 3rd "Bondage" album was included in one of the last line-ups of Gabriel Bondage. This effort, "Last Chance", was received well enough with moderate local radio play, but soon after, Dharma Records died a painful death, and went bankrupt. All the people dispersed and continued in their musical careers in other bands... So, this version is a real rarity and does not deserve to be lost to the winds...------ "I hope you enjoy my music. It is all thanks to the fans... BIG PS. CHECK OUT THE VIDEOS FROM QUASAR'S "Seeing Stars 2009" - and THE BLEEDER PROJECT'S "Semantics" TO SEE ME ON THE DRUMS>>> See the videos below..." -
