I have always felt that 'Riot Grrrl' is a movement that offers a platform for women to express themselves in any way they feel necessary. Over the past year I have been photographing and collecting portraits of Riot Grrrls through feminist events over Britain and the internet community.
'Riot Grrrrl & I' offers a personal and unique insight into this underground feminist subculture, showing the dedicated and creative people within it.
"The press may not have twigged on to the legacy that Riot Grrrl will leave, but this doesn’t equate to its non-existence and non-importance. This is where the need for such a book arises. Not just a book regurgitating its Wikipedia entry, but one documenting real life Riot Grrrls, who may not have been in Bikini Kill or Bratmobile, but still follow the ethos nonetheless.
