Thank you for being friends with "Who Needs God?"

We recently passed the 10,000 friend mark and it feels good to know so many people on MySpace agree we all need God.

    Thanks for the add!

    The Creed of Robert G.
    Ingersoll

To love justice, to long for the right, to love mercy, to pity the suffering, to assist the weak, to forget wrongs and remember benefits -- to love the truth, to be sincere, to utter honest words, to love liberty, to wage relentless war against slavery in all its forms, to love wife and child and friend, to make a happy home, to love the beautiful in art, in nature, to cultivate the mind, to be familiar with the mighty thoughts that genius has expressed, the noble deeds of all the world, to cultivate courage and cheerfulness, to make others happy, to fill life with the splendor of generous acts, the warmth of loving words, to discard error, to destroy prejudice, to receive new truths with gladness, to cultivate hope, to see the calm beyond the storm, the dawn beyond the night, to do the best that can be done and then to be resigned -- this is the religion of reason, the creed of science. This satisfies the heart and brain.

Saw something cool.. Newsweek's cover story

    Lincoln vs. Darwin
    Who matters more..

Pleased me that mass-media counts Darwin as up there with Lincoln on importance!

    Keep the fight!

I need to come here and be among friends today! I posted a silly "Happy 4th" bulletin this morning and at the end I wrote a little paragraph about how "under god" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance by Eisenhower 62 years after it was written. So, one of my psycho Christian "friends" posted a bulletin wishing everyone a happy 4th and then wrote "GOD bless America."
I'm angry and needed a place to vent.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!!!!!! (And don't ever stop!)

    Peace,
    Julie

You guys are probably busy, so I'll try to make this short 'cause I know you get messages enough already. I've been doing some research and I'm getting curious about the ironic similarities between the story of Jesus, and that of Greek Mythology. I've read about several Greek gods and have noticed a pattern similar to that of Jesus in the Christian bible. I've noted that all this occurred way before JC was ever supposedly born.

Like thousands of years before Jesus, there was a story that was told about a god like man, he was born from a "virgin" mother, in a stable no less. Later it goes on to talk about how he traveled about with loyal followers, preaching and performing miracles, etc... until he allows himself to be arrested, and tried for blasphemy... He was found guilty and executed of course, and get this, despite that he rised from the grave three days later, where the women crying at his tomb don't recognize him, until he transforms into his true form as the god Dionysus...

My question was, that if you guys know anything else about this? It makes sense to me that the story itself could have been took and twisted to the liking of early Christians so they'd have somewhat of an idol to worship.
