Jen Kwok is a writer and performer based in Brooklyn, NY who combines music, improv, making people uncomfortable and stand-up comedy. That's weird, you say?! Probably. But this all makes sense in her quest to become the Asian female Tom Waits of comedy. Although Jen enjoys playing ukulele to tens of people in basement burlesque shows, she has also reached national recognition as a finalist in NBC's Stand-Up for Diversity and maintains one of the fastest growing blogs on the Internet: http://jenkwok.wordpress.com.
Jen has secured a reputation as an all-around performer on the New York comedy scene, and is in-demand at such diverse venues as mainstream comedy rooms (Gotham Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club), alternative comedy shows (The Tank, Bowery Poetry Club, Ochi's Lounge at Comix, The PIT), burlesque nights and cabarets.
Jen also writes and performs with her comedy duo, Tijuana Yacht Club. Jen has studied comedy improvisation at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCB) and musical improv and sketch writing at The Peoples Improv Theatre's (PIT). She likes puppies. Obviously.
