   About SOMEWHERE NOT HERE
Conceived in 2005, SOMEWHERE NOT HERE, an instrumental work in progress from Rik Clay (founder of the now disbanded > FULC).

Work is currently focussed on releasing a 4 track EP sometime in 2006, but from time to time, songs will appear here on myspace.

The track "no complication" is a complete solo work by Rik, including guitars, bass and piano.

The track "adrift", features guest work from:

Sam Leach (Ten Seconds Of Chaos): Live Drums
Mike Clayton: Additional Keyboard

The track "nothing fades" is another solo track from Rik.

Nothing has been set in stone, as to the future direction of SOMEWHERE NOT HERE. A search for a vocalist has been unsuccessful to date, but feel free to get in touch if you feel you can add something to the sound. This also applies to musicians, who would like to get involved in the project.

Live shows are intended, but not until late 2006, where a full audio/visual concept is planned, with visual input from Joel Watson.

1st July 2009

For anyone who has read this far this page is now being managed by Riks parents. For those who are painfully aware Rik is no longer with us. The text above is as written by Rik and will remain so. When we first heard "No Complication" it broke us in two, because it IS Rik, somehow he has encapsulated his soul, his very essence into that piece of music, which makes it unbearable for us to listen to but essential for anyone who wants to "know" him. As a consequence we have now moved it to the top of the SomewhereNotHere playlist, whereas originally it was "Adrift" that took that slot. We hope to release a very special memorial cd incorporating Riks music later this year, or maybe next year, depending on how long it takes to compile the music from Riks hard drive...this will not be a commercial venture, it will be an act of love.

Thanks for supporting Soul Destruction.

Described as: 'like Soulfly if Trent Reznor were part of the band,' their debut album "There's No Profit in Truth", mixes the pent up frustration of acts such as Rage Against The Machine with the raging, highly charged riffs of classic Machine Head. Good, honest, politically aware and highly charged Metal at its best...

Thanks for the ADD!

Sad to find out about Rik's passing, R. I. P.!

The man was musically gifted and intellectually brilliant.

May his music and works live on.

Sadly Rik is no longer with us, but his music is, so hopefully later this year we hope to release a really special compilation of unreleased material which will include the Somewhere Not Here project as part of a lasting tribute to a really wonderful person.
