STEVE LEVINE BIOGRAPHY
Starting as a trainee tape-op at CBS studios in 1975, Steve worked with many punk acts including The Clash, XTC,The Jags, The Vibrators, as well as many of CBS records’ pop acts, including Sailor.
Steve produced all of Culture Club’s classic hits and the bands’ three multi-platinum albums.
Since then he has worked with a wide spectrum of artistes and composed a number of film scores. Other artist collaborations include Beach Boys, Honeyz, China Crisis, Gary Moore, Ziggy Marley, Stevie Wonder, Louise, The Creatures, Lemmy & Motorhead, David Grant, Westworld, Mis-teeq, Alsou and 911. As producer of the official ..sunami record, steve levine also worked with Robin & Barry Gibb, Brian Wilson, Steve Winwood.
Film Scores include Mr Frost – with Jeff Goldblum & Eversmile New Jersey – with Daniel Day Lewis
Steve has collected a number of prestigious awards including BPI Producer of the Year, Musicweek Top Singles Producer and a Grammy for Deniece Williams.
Steve is a regular guest speaker at various pro-audio seminars for companies such as Yamaha & Korg & Apple Computers. Including production master-classes at the Apple store in London.
Steve has also appeared on many radio and TV programs, he is a regular guest on BBC’s 6 Music.
Steve is the author of the Hit Kit and the Art of Downloading Music.
Currently in production of a radio documentary series for BBC Radio2 & BBC 6 music about the art of record production. This series is entitled The Record Producers. Airs each UK bank holiday monday of BBC radio 2 with a "producer cut" extended version on 6 music
