Blues came first from America. But then so did potatoes. That doesn't mean that you have to be American to sing the blues, to have the blues, or play them. With that in mind Stuart Turner bravely attempts to play them his own way. No cotton fields. No mojos. No cliche. Just expressions of his own environment. Pushing things forward. And just as valid as anything coming out of America. Without being a Muddy Waters tribute act.
His first solo album 'A Gallon of Water Makes A Mile of Fog' was released on Sun Pier Records, (distributed through Cargo Records) on October 2007. The album is available through Amazon, Play and HMV on-line, (on cd only). Downloads are available at.... A second album 'File Under Carnal Knowledge' was released in Febuary 2009, also through Sun Pier Records, and is available from all the same places. A third more band based album is under construction. "Music with this much heart and soul is rare." (Blues Matters 2009).

Hey stuart, thanks for your lovely comment x sorry I couldn't make it out for the barge the other day, I'll come and talk to you next time I see you, sometimes I am a bit sketchy at gigs :-)see you soon D
So I've noticed mate. Your playing with the most wonderful Kelly Stanley too. Such a wonderful girl and awesome voice. I wish you a great night as I'm out of town. I've said to Jay to make it a great one for you all! Have a good one, hope you get an audience you deserve. J
We did way back when, yeah! ....and you rocked!!!! I love your pedal board set-up. I wanna get the tr-2 but it just doesn't seem that powerful. You've got much better acoustics with better pick-ups in them, therefore making your stomps clearer. I'm often drenched in feedback on an acoustic just because the use of a wah and a little distortion! You utilise your sound tres well. J
Excellent stuff. You sound like raging Tom Waits doing a Louis Armstrong impression... which can only, only be a good thing! Nice megaphone action...
Thanks for listening to my CD too - that's very kind of you and I hope you enjoy it!
By the way if you don't know of him already, check out a dude called Kelly Joe Phelps... reckon you'd dig with the blues stylings 'n' all. He's great :)
