Press Reviews of the 'On All Frequencies' album
===============================

"Certified gun smoke. Cop that!"
-OJ Lima, VIBE magazine editor-at-large

"The surprise of the year... ‘On All Frequencies’ takes on dub, underground hip hop, broken-beat and dancehall and packs them into 14 sonic gems. [The song] ‘Ghetto Champion’ is what Damien Marley should have been working on."

"It gives me the same feeling I get listening to early Massive Attack work, not because of the sound directly, but because of the artistic energy & flavor everyone brings into the project. Great work!"
- ProperlyChilled.com

"While they may ply their trade in an assortment of reggae, hip-hop, broken beat, and jungle tracks, each is approached with a maverick, dub-wise sensibility that shouts a clear music-first missive to the masses. The band delivers as advertised, hitting you thoroughly on all frequencies."
- XLR8R Magazine

"Tracing the roots of bass heavy dub with a funk-styled edge of underground hip-hop, SSS bridges dancehall energy and multi-cultural communication. Solid beats, meaningful messages and remix trickery."
- BPM Magazine

"Subatomic Sound System hurl themselves into the vacuum with fierce force, taking you on a dubwise journey with a powerful message and style to spare"
- DJ Synapse, Beautiful/Decay Magazine

"***** Wickedness! Now here's an album I want to have on vinyl. A true collector for selectors! ...[Subatomic Sound System is] one of the most important bands contributing to the expansion of modern dub"
- Chronic Sonata/ DubSelector.com

"I’m stunned. Seriously, these tunes are top shelf, first class dynamite. I LOVE THEM! Massive tunes! Brilliance."
- Mista Micha, The Chill Pill, BayFM

+ NEW VINYL RELEASE: Subatomic Sound System dub 45s out now! Preview both sides & pick it up at Turntable Lab. "Brooklyn's own Subatomic Sound System is the latest crew to bless a classy Bastard Jazz 45. "Our Father, Our King" (a-side) sounds as majestic as you would expect from the title... This rootsy dub tune is just in time for the sweltering heat of the office... the dub(b-side) on the flip takes it to a sub-Subatomic level as the new school gangsters of peace Chronic Sonata meet the veteran dub surgeon Victor Rice. This one had the deep heads at the office checking the turntable as our overheated, sweaty workplace temporarily dissolved into an exclusive tropical sauna. Nice work on all fronts... right down to the lion profile on the label and the unfadeable yellow paper sleeve. This stuff is too hot for Summer, so get yours."

Daddy Lion & Treasure Don in combination

SUBATOMIC SOUND SYSTEM is a production crew/ live soundsystem/ mobile studio/ community/ musician's collective/ way-of-life committed-to-individuality-and-the-pursuit-of-personal-freedom born and raised in New York City by Emch and Tha Riddim Doktor.

SUBATOMIC fuses the DJ soundsystem tradition with dub studio techniques, bringing the studio flavor into the soundsystem to detonate an improvised explosive new style of music and live performance that combines the flow and diversity of DJ sets with the energy and improvisation of bands and the sound manipulation techniques of the studio laboratory. Classic and original dub, roots, and dancehall reggae get mashed up with futuristic hip hop and space age drum and bass rhythms that are reworked and rearranged in real time collaborative interaction with a diverse crew of MCs, vocalists, and musicians. Simultaneously, the entire sound is mixed and manipulated live on the spot. What!? What!? What!? Okaaaaaay! Watch yourself!

Check Beatport, Itunes, Napster, Real Rhasopy, Emusic , etc. for the digital exclusive release of Lost Hits Vol.1: Dancehall vs. Hip Hop featuring King Django, Pete Miser, and Herb D.

Greetings and Blessings, one and all.
What's going on, Emch?

'Tis I, The Roots Warrior, sending a blessing out to Subatomic Sound System and to all the fans, friends, and all good-minded people thereof.

It will be a most interesting situation that Subatomic will be storming Europe and Canada in July, and I will be on tour with The Meditations in July.

What I feel in this case is that even though we will be miles apart, we'll still be rocking it together.

Always remember, Jah is watching...
...and so am I.

Bless up.

Always Watching,
