Taal Naan is the convergence of two percussionists from distinct backgrounds with a common goal: the exploration of rhythm and the drum. The group fuses musical aspects from drumming and percussion traditions of the world with a range of global instruments and a hint of electronics. The result is a fiery and delicious blend of rhythms and textures.
Taal Naan brings together Josh Hogan from Mukti and Tetrafide with Steven Richter of Mr Sister and Sabroson fame. Both have extensive experience in a range of traditional and not-so-traditional musics, and play a repertoire of original compositions blending rhythmic concepts, forms, and techniques from the world of drumming.
