Ted is a singer/songwriter/bass player/producer. An L.A. resident via Seattle and NY.
He's been playing and touring with Shooter Jennings off and on since 2003.
Ted also always been making records on his own, too. He started PoMo records in 1995 to put out his first album. many years and albums later, Ted's last CD, Divisadero, was one of the top 40 records on the Americana Chart in '07. The new forthcoming record, Poor Man's Paradise, came out in November in Europe, and will be released on February 17 in the USA.
..
here's a little more history...
By 2001, Ted was in L.A. starting to develop his own brand of American music while making a living playing with a million bands including Candye Kane, Kevin Banford, Eugene Edwards, Preston Smith, The Better Days, and Robin Wiley.
As Ted honed in on his musical interests - the combination of country and soul relying on the roots of American music, Ted formed his own band, Union Pacific, that played around L.A. and San Diego and, at the same time, became a highly sought after bassist doing session, national TV shoes, and many international tours.
In 2003 Ted met and began playing bass with Shooter Jennings. The first Shooter Jennings album came out in March of 2005 on Universal South almost to the day when NorthSouth was released on Ted's own label PoMo Records. Ted spent most of 2005 touring the U.S. with Shooter as the band's 'Put the O Back In Country' sold 425,000 records. In fact, Ted wrote the song "Steady at the Wheel" on the Shooter record, which became the record's 2nd single and was ..1 on the Texas charts for over a month.
2006 and 7 were also great years. Shooter and the 357's released their second record and 3rd records, while Ted released the album Nashville Fineline, comprised of many new songs written and recorded on the road with Shooter and the band as well as with his old friends from the L.A. scene. The band's year of touring included the David Letterman Show, The Craig Ferguson Show, Bonnaroo, the Wakarusa Festival, and the Willie Nelson 4th of July Picnic, a Summer tour opening for Lynyrd Skynyrd and 3 Doors Down, doing over 150 shows.
In '07, Ted;s next record, Divisadero was released on Jan. 30, got a ton of great press, and charted on the Americana Chart for 4 months. Ted did many radio station visits, did a bunch of gigs with the band, and even opened a bunch of shows for Shooter doing double duty. And after a great year of touring with Shooter and the .357's, Ted did his first solo tour in Europe, playing in Spain and France.
In '08, Ted finished his next record Poor Man's Paradise. It was released in November '08 in Europe and Ted did his own three week tour in England, Spain, France, Norway, and Sweden to support the release opening a 6 shows for Gary Louris and mark Olson.
2009 has brought the US release of Poor Man's Paradise in coalition with Dualtone Records. This is turning out to be another good year. Ted is continuing to get his own music out there, touring through the US and planning another Europe trip for this coming winter as well as working more with Shooter and the 357's. He is also glad to be back at home in the music world of L.A. playing and recording with local bands, gigging with friends, and doing some producing as well.
