Hi! We're Lauren and Nina, two best friends (not sisters) who make up The Moaning Myrtles, a piano-based wizard rock band from Hillsborough, NJ. The idea for the band was sparked in November 2005 when we saw Harry and the Potters play a live show and Lauren brought up how many new wizard rock bands had started. Jokingly, Nina suggested that they start a Moaning Myrtle band. Strangely enough, Myrtle was Lauren’s first choice of a character to base a band off of as well.
We started playing live shows as The Moaning Myrtles in the summer of 2006 and we were immediately hooked. Even those first local shows attracted a turnout of dressed up and enthusiastic Harry Potter fans. Since then, we have played alongside wizard rock bands such as The Remus Lupins, The Whomping Willows, Draco and the Malfoys, The Parselmouths, Ministry of Magic, and many others.

Hey :D I just wanted to say that you two are amazing people. You've inspired me in so many ways. You've let me know that there are people out there somewhere that want to be around me. Because of you, I know that I can make it, and be someone in the world. When I'm sad, your music makes me happy. When I'm happy, your music makes me ecstatic. And I just wanted to thank you. For everything.
Ok, so I was listening to "Then I Died" and my Dad passed by and asked who it was. I turned around, appauled that my own father had not discovered the wonder that is HarryPotter fan bands. "The Moaning Myrtles, Duh!" and he said he thought you all sound like the Lucivious Biddies. Now that I think about it there are some definite similarities.

Hello! Thanks so much for adding us! Two of the girls in our little group actually saw your performance at Enlightening and at least one of them had "Prefects Are Hot" as her myspace song for a few weeks afterwards... :)
