It's 2008. Albums are so last year! (apparently*) So we decided to make some SONGS.
I said to Chris, "I've got a new song!"
"Is it any good?", he said.
"Have you got any new songs?"
"Fair point."
SONGS are good because they are short and can have jokes in and you can remember them. Everybody likes songs. Here are some things we made songs about:
-Living and dying
-God (Where is he when you need him?)
-Greek philosophers
-Winnie the Pooh
-A bunch of things that I noticed last summer
They are all singing at WWW.SCATCAT.CO.UK, right now while you are reading this. So stop reading this, or they may get lonely and sad. And there are enough sad songs in the world already.
*If you personally are so last year, and have album cravings, do this (you won't regret it: we didn't)...
An expert in towel folding and soft furnishings in general, ScatCat is a dedicated innovator of new frisbee throwing techniques, and also runs a shady sideline in playwriting. ScatCat remains a proud advocate of the music of Sufjan Stevens, Paul Simon, the Bonzo Dog Doodah Band, and U2, the writings of CS Lewis, Leo Tolstoy, Bertolt Brecht and the Bible. He hopes one day to turn into Marty McFly, and has bought an orange life preserver in preparation.

Just been listening to Songs in a Day on the microsite (love it, it's wicked, and the site's awesome as well). The audio files are a bit gammy, but I've ordered it so all is good. Keep it up.
We also released an EP recently (about 6 weeks ago). It is entitled What's a Guitar?!? and we're rather proud of it. 6 songs for a mere £3.50. We're only selling it at gigs at the moment, but we will have some coming up sooooooon.
Hi mr Scat Cat. How's things? If you fancy being a legend then head over to the RA site (or hit the link below) and grab a new copy of my EP. Thanks for your support!!
Hey, sounds like you're enjoying yourself - excellent. That sounds like a film version of your play on Belgian museums and time-travel...am I right? I was so annoyed I couldn't get to see that. Indian plays? Anything worth me having a casual look at?
Current project is the panto at Small Heath Young REP - 'Dick Whittington (and that famous cat)'. It's on next week, and should be good. I hope. The script is written by some kid called Richard...oh, yes it is.
Generation is a Festival, being run by the REP over March/April-ish, of work by and for young people. There are plays directed at young audiences, plays performed by young actors (us lot), and plays written by young writers. It's all very trendy and young.
Haven't seen you in Birmingham for ages...absolutely ages. This is a shame.
Thanx again for your part in an amazing gig last saturday, and thanx for all your help recently. Its good to know there are some amaxing people who care :D xx

Hi Tim... I know roughly where it is... i'll google it to make sure though! I'm not sure I'm gonng be able to make the soundcheck that early... I mentioned to Chris yesterday... I'm only arriving back in southampton tomorrow and i'm not sure what time tom (my piano player!) can get here... he comes from aways away... is there any chance we could sound check just before the gig? Its only me and him so its not much.. let me know what you think...x
Hey friend, thanx for the blog comment, tis amazing! :D and in answer to the vaguenes question, i simply wondered whether it were possible to talk about it in such an obscure way that people who wouldn't usually talk about such things would feel able to comment, and like, wanting to ask questions about it.....and it has worked!! :D Thanx again, have a unfathomably brilliant new year. X
