About me:
We are a craft beer appreciation and homebrewing club which meets on the second Wednesday of every month at Mugs Ale House in Brooklyn, NY (at 7.30pm in the back room or garden). We have sponsored several homebrew competitions in the past, including the Best of Brooklyn Competition, which drew over 400 entries. We are dedicated to the creation and appreciation of good beer, both in the home and the brewery. We also try not to take ourselves too seriously.
Our members and officers include prize winners from homebrew competitions both local and national, and beginners trying their first batch. Some of our members don't brew any beer at all, but enjoy appreciating the good stuff when they taste it!
We have a monthly newsletter which includes articles by nationally-known homebrewers about brewing techniques, information on club activities and beer events, accounts of beer seeking trips around the world, etc.The MBAS website includes the newsletter (in PDF format), a beer event calendar, and the Beer Alert page which lists what's currently on tap around the city. Also check out Bill Coleman's Salty Dog comic strips as published in Ale Street News... http://hbd.org/mbas/
Like good beer? Please feel free to visit our informative website for news and reports from the NYC craft beer and homebrewing circuit, click the link below...
All are welcome to attend our monthly get-togethers to enjoy and learn about craft beer - it makes no difference whether you're an expert or a novice. You can share your homebrew if you are a homebrewer and have some to spare.Go to Mugs Ale House, 125 Bedford Avenue, Williamsburg, Brooklyn (one stop from Manhattan on the L train), on the second Wednesday of each month - 7.30pm start time. Look for the rabble of beer geeks in the back room or garden.
