Big Road is a stripped-down three-piece band from Ashville, NC featuring Duane Simpson on Guitar, Peggy Ratusz on Vocals and Percussion, Jill Fromewick on Harmonica or Joshua Singleton on Harmonica and vocals. As winners of the annual Piedmont Blues Preservation Society's Blues Challenge, Big Road (Duane, Jill, Peggy with John Mulholland on drums) represented well at the International Blues Challenge (IBC) in early February in Memphis, TN. The IBC is the annual competition presented by the Blues Foundation of Memphis. Big Road will also appear at the 22nd annual Carolina Blues Festival, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 in downtown Greensboro and next fall at the Bull Durham Blues Festival in Durham.
