When two entities coincide and compliment each other, a balance is brought about that is undeniable. Jigsaw and Mista ED are those elements which interact with a chemistry that gives new meaning to the term "dynamic duo." Representing 180 degrees each, Equilibrium combine to collectively create a 360-degree cipher of rhyme. Along with a faithful crew of emcees, musicians, and arists, they’ve laid the groundwork for an unshakable foundation that will propel them to success.
Street credibility and commercial appeal weigh equally within the scales of EQ’s musical atmosphere. Scoring material for Japanese animation films like "Ghost in the Shell" gives EQ the international savvy to measure up to the best songwriters in the business. Also touring Europe with their Wax Po cohorts Dujeous, EQ has developed the kind of crowd experience and stage presence to rock any venue and leave the fans begging for an encore.
Jigsaw the Puzzler, who also plays the trumpet, maintains a high level of respect for hip-hop both as a culture and an art form. Jigsaw has collaborated with some of the best producers around, like Charlemagne, whose done tracks for some of hip-hops premiere acts like Camron and Jay-Z. His partner in rhyme, Mista ED the Hoarse Vocalist, has penned songs alongside Quincy Jones and possesses a keen skill for creative writing and marketing strategies.
Abundantly talented, these two rhyme gladiator’s rep Harlem (Mista ED) and the Bronx (Jigsaw) respectively. The everyday trials and tribulations of New York’s inner city streets run through their veins an bleeds through their music. Never letting up with relentless flows layered with metaphoric genius gives them leverage in this day and age where rappers come a dime a dozen. Locally respected and internationally known, EQ has been in the game for a minute. For over a decade, they’ve been performing in countless spots in the trenches of the New York underground nightclub scene.
Its been said that their live show is a must see with a level of energy that keeps their audience intrigued through the entire journey. So take this trip with EQ , but don’t get it twisted, these cats are in it for the love of the culture. All things in the dark are destined to enter the light of truth. It’s time for EQ to get their shine on!
