i am Joachim, i play clarinet, bassclarinet and tenorsaxofoon, i write tunes aswell. i was bourne and raised in Antwerpen. i started playing clarinet around the age of 7. during my whole childhood i studied classical clarinet with Sabine Uytterhoeven. i never thought i would go and do someting with music when i would be grown up, i was always drawing and thought i..d probably go and do something in that direction, like my dad. at some point i discovered jazz and improvised forms of music, i liked that! so i followed the pop/jazz direction at the Kunsthumaniora and after that i entered the Conservatory of the Hague in Holland. i studied there for 6 long years with my teachers John Ruocco and later Michael Moore. overthere i met most of my friends from all over europe that i play with today.
also at the banff workshop for creative music in Canada i made many friends that i still make music with today. some other friends i make music with i met in Antwerp, or in brussels, or in other places like trains or a pizzeria.
i like to watch movies, any kind really. when i am bored i draw little figures, they all look alike, it is terrible. i am vegeterian. but i do eat fish. i attempt to do yoga when i have the time for it. please enjoy my page, it was nice talking to you, greetings, joachim.
