new bio. and begin....
i was born and raised in annapolis. i played soccer and basketball. i painted. i went to school, skipped class to spend time in the art room and sometimes got caught. i ran to art school after high school, spent a year and a half in baltimore, living with my soulmate sister friend:) in an apartment that had a 30 pound beehive in the floor. the ceiling collapsed twice, i punched a window out, the wall shot sparks out at us, and a thief broke in and stole a little tv and took some jewelry and hid it under an orange street cone that was in our hallway. (who dOeSn't have an orange street cone in their hallway...duh) i dropped out of school because my art which once reflected me had turned into glittery green hand sculptures and paintings of medusa with gold spray painted animals marching around her head.(can't get a visual? that's a good thing) i then went to beauty school. why? don't really know. i was not a beauty school drop out. i moved out to jackson hole, wyoming and it was there that i lived in a tiny studio apartment....that was in an old motel called sleeping indian motel. i didn't have a kitchen and if i listened to my stereo with the lights on while drying my hair, i would blow the circuit and the entire motel would lose power. i spent most of my nights writing music while the snow covered world around me silenced everything else besides the coyotes. amazing. the mountains became my family. they were what i saw every morning when i woke up. every morning driving back and forth from home. never changing. everywhere i went in that town, they were the constant. i learned how to fall on ice, which i did so many a time. i also learned that it hurts. i travelled around the west, then i moved east.
i write music. constantly. i actually can't stop. i'm okay with it...it's cheaper than a therapist, which i would need a lot of if i didn't play music. i'm in love with the movie amelie. i think she is me. i think i am her. i believe everyone should be a dreamer, living in their most absurd imaginations but keeping a toe in some reality so that you don't float away. i love big sunglasses. they make the world look funny. i feel drunk when i wear them sober. they make me laugh. i could live underneath a grand piano. i could also live on the edge of the ocean . i can stare at the horizon line for hours, watching waves. i don't actually know how to play the guitar. i don't know the names of the notes. i recently named my guitar felina. she's blue. and my soulmate sister friend bought her for me. i didn't have enough money. then i went to an atm and got cash out and handed her a pile of 20's. she said she felt like a prostitute. that was kind of sad for her. why am i even writing about this anymore? hmmm...top ten ...i'm doing it...

"With a breathy voice and a keen sense of melody, Annapolis-based
singer/songwriter Laura Brino has a charming musical appeal. Brino has
noticeably grown as an artist since her January 2007 session on
Baltimore Unsigned.
Laura's new six-song EP Elephant has a warm, breezy feel that's
fitting for the start of summer. From bubbly tracks like "Something
More" to the wistful "I Fold," it's clear Brino has a bright future."
