Mark started his career in 2001, with a tour with Simon Vinkenoog; a famous dutch beat poet who was close with Ginsberg once. Mark and his band played; Vinkenoog read his poems.
They stopped playing in 2005 and Mark moved to Amsterdam and started the writing process for his first album "Pain & Entertainment", that was released late 2007.
On the album Mark sings a drum 'n bass duet with Johnny Dowd (usa), the American master of freak roots. Mark had met Johnny on a party in a small dutch town called Zoetermeer.
From 2006 on Mark and his band played several nights as Johnny's support-act.
Mark and his band also played as opening act for Canned Heat.
After the release of Pain & Entertainment, Mark moved back to Mijnsheerenland (small village near Rotterdam) where he started writing his second album: "Better things to Do" (to be released in march 2009)
Mark's songs are well known for their variaty of styles (country, rock, electro and ska) and their absurd storytelling lyrics. His lyrics are moving, funny and sad.
His live preformances are known for their improvisation, expression and the funny intermezzo's of his bass player Kevin Andeweg.
