    "This boys destiny is on the up" - Rick Fulton (Daily Record) Music from the West Coast is generally sunny, jangly optimistic stuff. Such is the music of marky:boyofdestiny except the West Coast in this case is in Scotland. This two piece of Mark Anderson (guitars, vocals and songwriter) and Gram Allan (multi instrumentalist and producer extraordinaire) have formed a sound steeped in the singer songwriter tradition. Living by the River Clyde in Gourock has influenced the pair in a more folky approach to producing their music. This is not an exclusive influence however. With comparisons being made to Neil Young and the Byrds to Big Star and Teenage Fanclub the boys have plied their songs around the Scottish music scene for a number of years now. Recently they have supported Peter Docherty of Libertines fame at a Scottish show such is their draw. Recently saw the release of When I Was Hope. This was the debut, self financed and produced, album that surprised everyone when its limited release sold out almost immediately. Since then a single Why Is It When I Dream/Pigs Might Fly has been released on iTunes and most other digital suppliers. Right now the boys are hard at work demoing new material. A video for a new song Far From Here has been posted on Myspace and Youtube. Far From Here is bursting with summery pop appeal and is bound to put a spring in your step and a smile on your face. The rest of the new album is coming along. This time around its a more emotional affair. marky and gram are out to break your heart.
