Heavy Liquid was great, I enjoyed the journey and think - despite being wary of drugs / psychedelic themes in comics these days - it tied in perfectly with the conclusion - a Ballardian jumping off point in itself!
And Year 100's a belter - for the first time in an age I found myself just flowing through the pages as Batman attempts to destroy his blood sample and the illustrations on the bike pages 170-171 are immense. Not so taken with the kinda, I dunno, Latino look to Batman himself, but the approach to the costume was intelligent, even if I didn't like the mask so much either.... No downer, mind, best thing I've read in ages.... 21st century comics indeed!
Thanks for the add Paul. I love you're work. I had Jessica Abel's class and she would talk about your methods every now and then. Just finished Batman Year 100 and it was great. Never had a comic feel like a roller coaster ride. And great way to add your story to the existing lore of Batman.
