Influences
WROCK: The Sectumsempras, the Unforgivable Curses, Obliviate!, Draco and the Malfoys, MoM, Talons & Tea Leaves, RiddleTM, the Remus Lupins... pretty much the whole movement! Especially other Slytherins... bwahaha
MUGGLE: Patrick Wolf (♥), the Cure, Regina Spektor, the Smashing Pumpkins, the Smiths, the Dresden Dolls, Rasputina, Emilie Autumn, etc.
TEXTUAL: JKR, obviously, and also Philip Pullman, the Brontës, Neil Gaiman, Susanna Clarke, Diana Wynne Jones... I love Pratchett but I'm not witty so it doesn't show. Read books!

Sounds Like
cigarette riddled warbling, messing around on an acoustic guitar, stolen violins, lovesick lycanthropes, thwarted teenage romance, the hope of all they might have been... et cetera.
After 8 years of being a Potter fan, I finally got a computer with a microphone and music software and joined the wrock revolution. Split Seven Ways was the result. Combining acoustic guitar, violin, keyboards and vocals, Split Seven Ways songs are generally about teenage angst, adults who won't grow up (for whatever reason), friendship, rivalry, and romantic trauma. Sometimes they're fun, sometimes they're tragic, but I hope you like them.
I'm a little partisan when it comes to characters and 'ships, I must admit, but I'll try my hand at songs for most characters. I am mildly obsessed with Severus Snape, Remus Lupin, Draco Malfoy, Lily Evans, Regulus Black and Narcissa Malfoy, for starters.
There are two side-projects - Malfoy Manor, which concentrates on the electronic side of things, and Pansy & The Gossip Queens, which is theoretically funny, so check them out too!
