Right, this is gonna be a long list that we'll probably have to keep adding to (people change y'know?), but here goes... Bad Religion, NoFX, Rancid (when they were good), Green Day (when they were young), Nirvana (when we were young), all the bands that slog it out on the Irish scene that inspired us to get started and to keep going (check out the new Irish punk & hardcore archive to get some ideas)... Also, the Home Recording forum over at
RecordingReview has been an indispensable aid in getting our songs recorded. If you wanna go DIY, go there first. Oh, and guitarists: buy your strings at Strings and beyond. Great for buying in bulk :)
Sounds Like
Apparently: "Glass-gargling melodic punk rock" - cheers Kollin :)
Stanton's Grave is three guys from Cork who like to play punk rock. If you really need to know any more, then keep on reading...
Stanton's Grave started out when I (Anthony) moved back to cork having lived in Limerick for a year then Amsterdam for about 6 months. I got in touch with my mate Eoin (El Bastardo & [r]Evolution of a sun) about jamming sometime, just for something to do. This was in 2004, and eventually, after 4 years of arsing about trying a hardcore band, a crust band (and 1 bizarre sludge gig - cheers Leo) and many lineup changes, we got Dan in on bass in 2007 and finally settled down properly. Slowly but surely we managed to get enough songs together that we could actually remember how to play on the few occasions that we could all get together, then we decided to start playing gigs. We hope you enjoy,
Hey lads, yeah we had to cancel the gig today I hope we can get a gig down there again for the summer.. don't worry boys I'll try and get you lads a gig up in Galway for the summer -Dave
