The ALX was brought about by a conversation on public transit by two near strangers with a desire to form a band different from what they were currently doing. The lineup was filled out by members of past projects, then the ball was rollin and the sweet jams were flowin. The sound of The ALX is that of traditional hardcore mixed with a nice amount of groove and an obvious rock influence. The kind of tunes you hear when a semi rolls past you on the highway. Since their inception just over a year ago they have released a 6 song EP, toured Western Canada with Attack In Black (Dine Alone Records) and have shared the stage with Comeback Kid, Cancer Bats, Cast Aside, Down To Nothing, Sick City, Die Young, Figure Four, Far From Ruin, In Stride and Hollow Ground amongst others. They plan on playing as much as they can in Canada and the USA, writing new material and getting back in the studio as soon as possible. Bottom line, The ALX is about doing what we love to do, making new friends, getting awesome, having fun and rocking faces.
