N E X U S 6 is the alter ego of the Spanish musician Javier Fernández, the bassist - keyboard player/ main composer for the Spanish Extreme Metal band The Heretic. Javier released his debut album with Iberian Moon Records “Four Seconds To die” some years ago. Although that work is wide different to this new second album, was kind of the start point for a musical career that dates from 1994 and lasts until the present, and with intention to continue at least for the next 50 years; not only as Nexus 6 but with his other musical acts as well; The Heretic (Extreme Metal), Putilatex (Electro-punk) or whatever new band, collaboration or project that may appear for the future. But if there’s one single word that may define the work of this musician through his prolific -yet eccentric - career, it couldn’t be other than eclecticism.


A STRANGE HABITAT.

Javier started working in “A Strange Habitat” at the beginning of fall through winter, 2006 in his own studios. At first, the idea was making just an E.P., but the proyect was turning into something "bigger" day by day, and so it was that Javier ended up trying a full length album. For this work he’s counted on the inestimable help and talent of Rhülk (Raúl Gómez, vocalist for The Heretic, and also a close friend) at vocals. This is the only one collaboration in the whole album, although Javier doesn’t rule out the idea of inviting other friends –or enemies – to collaborate with Nexus 6 in the future. .


OTHER WORKS.

With his main band, The Heretic, Javier’s released 3 albums and 2 E.P. up to now. In these days, and after two years of "bypass", the band is giving shape to their new forthcoming album, to be released by Xtreem Music.

He has also collaborated with Nahemah (Keyboards in “The Second Philosophy”, Life Force 2007) , Amalthea (Keyboards in “Kayros”, Iberian Moon 2000), Los Alienistas & Is (as a session drummer), República Gorila (bass/programming), Ataúd Johnson & Sepulturero Jones (Bass/guitar), and lots of other unknown bands. He's also been during 10 years the drummer for Chucho, one of the most acclaimed indie bands in Spain, counting with 13 released works in its vast discography.

Recently, Javier has joined the black/pagan metal band from Madrid WOLFENCROSS as a permanent guitar player. They're working hard for their forthcoming CD debut nowadays, as Javier is making his best to learn all that bunch of twisting, raw, blasting songs on time to start playing live. Nowadays, he’s making score music for a TV cartoon series –we’ll reveal the secret later on…-, producing music, and composing stuff for his present bands.

“A Strange Habitat” is out now, and it’s his 27th released work up to now (including the releases of his “official bands”, session works, collaborations etc). It’s a real, blasting Extreme Metal Album, rooted in classical progressive black metal with shots of death metal and industrial music. Anyway, “A Strange Habitat” has already become in his main work to date. At least for him!.
