Moreover Moedling is a myspace site about the music scene in Moedling, a small town in Austria, a little south of Vienna. Where would the rich and blooming scene of musicians in Mödling, who are exploring the fringes of music and of their own understanding of harmony, structure and sound, come from? Is it, by all definitions, a scene yet? The economically well off suburban centre of Mödling is rather known for snootiness, drug dealing at one of Austrias largest technical schools and reckless drivers in expensive cars than it is for being open-minded about avant-garde music.
What the artists have in common is a mindset that drives them to identify clichés, prejudices and focus and then to divert, dissect and rename them in a widely subconscious method. The results might be songs leaning towards pop or free form noise experiments or subtle yet glistening drones or walls of sound leaning threateningly over the listener. The background of the musicians ranges from autodidact to learned, but you wouldnt be able to tell the difference, because the strategies and intentions used are not taught in any school in the world. Their aim mystifyingly elusive yet obviously important: to lay bare the wondrous rules the mind and society work on, or at least some of them, refigure and reform them and set them to use anew right away.
This adventurous mindset is about the only thing the bands have in common. They draw their influences and ideas from a diverse array of areas that range from the serious to the absurd and from the pragmatic to the highly complex. From an outside point of view the various parts of this music may seem like a concise and tightly woven section of a tiny fraction of all the music on this planet, but diving into the contents offered herein, youll find whole worlds opening to you.

Wow, bist du deppat; Problembär Records feiert diesen Samstag Geburtstag und alle haben sie sich zur konzertanten Gratulation angesagt. Alle, ja wirklich alle die momentan die Güte besitzen auf diesem kleinen Label ihre grosse Musik unters Volk zu bringen: Neuschnee, mob, der Nino aus Wien und Unding; also lauter klasse Burschen; Dj’s sind der Sheriff Melone und der Major Näse (auch nicht gerade finstere Gesellen)... wie ich immer sag: Spiel, Spass, Stars & Spannung sind garantiert!
Oder wie das beliebte Pop-Blatt „The Gap“ so schön schreibt:

Hallo! Am 4.12. spielen wir wieder im Backstage in Wr.Neustadt - und haben das neue Album im Gepäck! Hoffe wir sehen uns? Übrigens, das neue Album "Learn to Swim" könnt ihr ab sofort auch auf Amazon.de vorbestellen! Es kommt dann pünktlich zum Veröffentlichungstermin am 4.12.2009 bei euch an!
Es ist soweit! Nach zwei Jahren intensiver Arbeit bin ich sehr glücklich Euch mein neues Album "Learn to Swim" präsentieren zu dürfen! Zusammen mit meiner Band haben wir 16 nagelneue Songs aufgenommen die wir euch nicht weiter vorenthalten möchten!
Am 10.11. präsentieren wir das neue Programm dieser Platte im Theater Akzent in Wien und würden uns freuen, wenn ihr alle kommt und mit uns feiert!
Junge, voller Esprit geladene Oxforder Herren um Frontmann Hugo Manuel, die fernab von jetwaigem Inselhype ihre fantastisch, beschwingenden kleinen Evergreens fabrizieren.
Vergleiche? Nun, manchmal dieser Einfluss der Microphones, Joan Baez und Grizzly Bear nicht zu verneinen, umrahmt von einer freundlichen, sonnigen Akustikversion Animal Collective’s und durchaus nicht von der Hand zu weisenden osteuropäischen Folkeinflüssen a la Beirut.
Einflüsse: the fall, talking heads, gang of four, television personalities, suicide, joy division, wire, richard hell, the stranglers, die goldenen zitronen, s.y.p.h., delta 5, blue orchids, spacemen 3.

es soll ein schöner ruhiger, zum grossteil akustischer Indie-Folk bzw Singer/Songwriter-Abend werden; jeder der Herren spielt jeweils 3, 4 oder 5 Songs ohne viel Schnickschnack... DJ ist der Scheichyerbouti, der das noch nie gemacht hat, aber einen ur super Musikgeschmack hat... ich glaub, dass wird ganz nett!
